We all know the question “where do you get your ideas,” but once you have them, how do you know what to do with them? For this workshop, bring all your random story musings, half-remembered dreams, sentences on scraps of paper, trunk stories that never quite gelled, and fiercely held beliefs looking for a way to be expressed on the page. We’ll go through ways to identify the core of an idea, figure out which kind of story engine will get your work from start to finish, dig deeper into the tensions and themes that make the story one that only you can write, and drag yourself past the first sentence. Bring your favourite inspired idea to play with!
