Catharine Chen is the editor of Arsenal Pulp Press, a book publisher in Vancouver, Canada with over 400 titles currently in print, which include literary fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry; books on social issues; gender studies; LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC literature; graphic novels and non-fiction; and children’s and young adult literature. We are interested in literature that engages and challenges readers and that asks probing questions about the world around us. Recent titles include Scarborough by Catherine Hernandez, a 2022 Canada Reads finalist and now a motion picture; Jonny Appleseed by Joshua Whitehead, winner of the 2019 Lambda Literary Award for gay fiction, winner of 2021’s Canada Reads, and a 2018 Goveror General’s Literary Award finalist; and Butter Honey Pig Bread by Francesca Ekyuwasi, a 2020 Governor General’s Literary Award finalist and longlisted for the 2020 Giller Prize.
