C. L. Polk (they/them) wrote the Hugo-nominated Kingston Cycle, including the World Fantasy Award winning Witchmark. The Midnight Bargain was a Canada Reads, Nebula, Locus, Ignyte, and WFA finalist. Their latest novella, Even Though I Knew The End, is a Nebula finalist.
Before writing fantasy novels, they worked as a film extra, a costermonger, and also identified lepidoptera by eye. Mx. Polk lives in Calgary, in Treaty 7 Territory, known by the Blackfoot Confederacy as Mohkínstsis, which is also the traditional territories of the Tsuut’ina Nation, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation (Region 3). A city person at heart, they menace the streets on rideshare scooters and ride a green bicycle with a basket on the front.
