#SiWC17 Thank You

The workshops are over; blue pencils are done. The pitches are pitched; the panels have run. And just like that, SiWC is behind us for another year.

Here at SiWC Central, we’ll be taking a little bit of recovery time before we dive back in to planning SiWC18 for next October AND SiWC at Sea for this coming April. We hope you’ll join us for both.

In the meantime, we want to thank all of you who were part of this year’s conference, whether as an attendee, presenter, volunteer, board member, trade show vendor, book signing author, book signing attendee, or hotel employee. Our conference relies on ALL of you, and this year, you brought your love of writing and your kindness towards others at SiWC17 in equal measure, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We work hard to try to create a safe space for you, and you take that and run with it, making each other feel welcome, safe, and valuable, and arriving with open minds, ready to learn. We couldn’t ask for anything more than that. Thank you.

We’d love to hear your SiWC stories. If you blog or post about the conference and would like to share, please send us the link, and with your permission we’ll share it.

We hope you came away from SiWC exhilarated, exhausted, inspired, and ready to put words on paper.

Thank you for all you bring to our conference.

Kathy

  1. Making me cry from afar, fantastic. Oh, the reach of SiWC! I think the key word in this entire post is VALUABLE. Each person feels VALUABLE. I don’t know how. I don’t know why. It’s just…magic. Until next year, my dear. YOU are so valuable.

  3. As always, it was a very special weekend! Thank you to all of you who work so hard all year to make it such a unique and valuable experience. I’ve blogged about my initial reactions, but will eventually be following that up with more thoughts at http://careann.wordpress.com .
