Writing Contest Update

Well, writers, you have Blown. Us. Away!

The #SiWC18 writing contest has exceeded all others in scope, breadth and quality. More than 170 entries from six provinces, fifteen states, eight countries [and five islands, too]!

Winnowing down this amazing collection of stories [the equivalent of NINE full-length novels] to find our short-list has been really tough. If you didn’t make the short-list, please know that the competition was the tightest it’s ever been. All entries are judged blind at every level, so we are as excited as you are to know who finishes on top.

All writers who made the shortlist have been notified by email. [Have you checked your email today? Why not?] We ask that all celebration of achieving this prestigious shortlist be kept private [and off-line!] so that our blind judging system be preserved.

We’ll all learn the winners on Friday, October 19th after the Magical evening banquet. As soon as I can after that, the winners will be posted here, and will later be published in Pulp Literature Magazine.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at kcdyer@siwc.ca.

See you at the conference!
